What can a whale teach us about personal brand management?

Australia’s well-known humpback whale seminally has it all when we talk about personal brand management. He stands out amongst the crowd, leaves a lasting memory and touches those on an emotional level that have the privilege of witnessing him on his migration north.

So how can you replicate this in mastering  your “Personal Brand management”?

Migaloo, when first sighted he was the only known all white whale in the world. We have been fortunate enough to witness Migaloo this week on the Central Coast. As he migrates up the east coast of Australia from Antarctica to the warmer waters of Tropical North Queensland his distinctive all white colouring draws crowds lining the shores in hope of simply catching a glimpse.

Migaloo has certainly built a personal brand for himself with people flocking to see him as he passes by our shores. Imagine the impact on your business if your personal brand had such cut through.

A ‘personal brand’ is synonymous with your reputation. Referring to the way other people see you as a business owner, a representative of an idea, company or activity. Are you an expert? Are you Visionary? Do you just get the job done? What do you stand for? What is the initial perception when someone hears your name?
